What Is A Rise and Recline Chair and Why Should You Consider One?

A Rise and Recline Chair is a great chair for those who are reasonably mobile but need a little bit of assistance. Providing the utmost comfort while supplying additional benefit in safely assisting a sit to stand position with ease.

A chair like this can help keep you safe and comfortable in your own home, improving your quality of life.

Types of Rise and Recline Chairs

The Rise and Recline Chairs we stock here at Mounties Care come in a few different modes; single motor, dual motor and four motor. Each type offers different benefits and it will come down to each individuals needs when deciding which one is the right fit.

Single Motor:
A single motor design is the more simple version of a rise and recline chair. With not as many adjustments this model works in the one movement, as you recline the back rest the foot rest also moves up at the same time. They have an easy to use 2 button 'up' an 'down' remote, great for users with Dementia or Alzheimer's.

Dual Motor:
A dual motor chair offers the same movements as the single motor, but with independent controls. You can recline the back rest separately to the foot rest allowing for a larger amount of seating positions. Still with a simple to use remote, sometimes consisting of up to 6 buttons.

Four Motor:
A four motor rise and recline chair has more to offer with motion in the lumbar and head rest/neck. This style chair gives maximum customization and comfort, great for those with limited mobility or those who spend a lot of time in their chair.

What Size Chair Do You Need?

Many styles of the Rise and Recline Chairs stocked here at Mounties come in bariatric, standard and petite sizing. Majority of the time petite style chairs are designed with a smaller seat width, depth as well as seat height. These are great for those who have minimal space within their homes and feel that the standard is not comfortable for them.
Sizing varies across brands and designs, so it is best to check the measurements listed on each individual fact sheet and trying your preferred chair out in one of our stores before purchasing. There are many displayed in store to help with your decision.
Another major factor to consider is the weight capacity of each chair to ensure it is the right fit for you.

Fabrics Available To Choose From

Do you have a desired fabric when looking for the perfect chair. This may depend on how often the chair is used, how long you spend in the chair at a time, and possibly the climate in where you may be living.
There are many options from fabric, polyurethane and leather.

Additional Features
There are additional features that may be available dependent on the chair you decide on. Some chairs feature built in cup holders, wireless phone charging, 360 degree swivel and heat and massage.
Another important feature is Zero Gravity. Zero Gravity is the way the chair reclines helping to alleviate pressure on the lower back and bottom by distributing your weight to other areas of the body.
Two popular chairs that feature Zero Gravity are:
Theorem Winslow Rise and Recline Chair
Coolum Rise and Recline Chair

Overall our Rise and Recline chairs offer many benefits that exceed just a comfortable place to relax.
